Barbara Elizabeth Burns (Charvat), age 89 lived a beautiful, long life filled with love, kindness, and an incredible sense of humor. Barbara passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2025 surrounded by family. She moved from Maple Hts. to Aurora in 1949 and attended Aurora High School (class of '53). Barbara was a cheerleader when she met Robert (Bob) Burns was a football player. She married her highschool sweetheart and was a homemaker and mother. She had worked in a construction company office, real estate office, Aurora City Schools and owned and operated a home daycare during her life/ Devoted mother, she was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts of America and a Bluebird leader for Campfire Girls. Barbara was an avid bird watcher and had the unique ability to feed the birds from her hand. She hosted family cookouts and kickball games in her yard. Barbara was a member of the Church of Aurora for 75 years.

Barbara is survived by daughter-in-law Patricia Burns of Grove City. Ronald (Paulette) Burns, Kathleen (Jeff) Sanicky and Jeffrey (Mollie) Burns of Aurora, Laura (Pete) Lamberty of Wadsworth and Charles Burns of Mantua, 14 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. sister Peggy Moffit of Tennessee and sister-in-law Bonnie Charvat of Aurora and longtime companion and dear cherished friend James Killian that she spent countless hours with.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert J Burns, son Robert E Burns and brother John Charvat.

Cremation has taken place. Saturday April 5th family will visit with friends from 12pm-1pm prior to the service at 1pm at the Church of Aurora, 146 S Chillicothe Rd., Aurora, OH 44202 following with a celebrations of life at Shalersville Town Hall, 9090 St Rt 44, Ravenna (Shalersville) OH 44266.
