Benjamin (Ben) Irwin was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 4, 2023.  He was born on May 8, 1991 in Mayfield Heights Ohio to Mark D. and Suzanne (Brown) Irwin.

Ben was a wonderful young man who fought a courageous battle with cancer for nine years.  His unwavering faith was an inspiration to all those that knew and met him.  He was a member of Pioneer Memorial Presbyterian Church, and the love and support of the church members meant so much to Ben.

He loved playing the trombone from fifth grade on and was a proud member of the Solon High School Marching Band, The Slippery Rock University Marching Band and the Solon Community Band.  He appreciated music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and especially loved the music of the Beatles and Rolling Stones.

Ben had a good sense of humor and enjoyed comedy TV sitcoms including the Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.  Ben was a bower with an average of 184.  He also was a fan of pro-bowling, Nascar, baseball and football and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburg Steelers, Texas Longhorns and Ohio State College Football.

Ben's dream in life was to help others with disabilities.  He was a proud graduate of Slippery Rock University with a major in Community Programs for Americans with Disabilities.  In his short life, he made a positive difference and left a huge impact on so many people.  He was sweet, kind and always thinking of others.  He always said that he doesn't see the disability only the person.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Mark D. Irwin, Uncle Michael G. Irwin and grandfathers, James M Irwin and Barton Brown.

He will be deeply missed by his mom, Suzanne (Brown) Irwin, who was by his side every day.  He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister Charlotte (Irwin) Ward, grandmothers Tina K. Irwin and Priscilla T. Brown, and his aunt and uncles: Barbara (Brown) & John Cikut, Karen (Irwin) & David Daum, David & Debie (Cooper) Irwin, numerous cousins and Paul Hincke, a faithful friend from their church who always looked out for him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 12:00 P.M. at Pioneer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Solon, Ohio.  A light lunch will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the the Solon Music Parents.
