Catherine "Cat" Szwed (nee Gavanditti), age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1st at Shady Lawn Assisted Living Facility in Dalton, OH, where she was a resident. Cat was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nicholas and Bernadine Gavanditti and her brother, Thomas Gavanditti. She is survived by her two daughters, Carissa (Cari) and Maria Szwed and her grandsons Mason, Brayden, Peyton and Wesley. She will be missed by her beloved sisters, Nancy (Daniel) Gallik, Trish (Christopher) Manacci and Loretta Gavanditti, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her loving feline companion, CoCo. Cat loved life and she fought a difficult eight year battle against cancer with dignity and determination. Her family is relieved that she is no longer in pain and can rest peacefully painting, gardening and lovingly tending to the animals. Services are being handled by Tabone-Komorowski Funeral home at 33650 Solon Road, Solon, Oh 44139. A Celebration of Life will be held there on Wednesday, July 8th 2:00- 3:30; interment immediately following at Roselawn Cemetery in Solon.
