Geraldine Matthews, Age 81, born August 24, 1940, Barking, Pennsylvania and

died May 1, 2022, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.  Preceded in death by her parents Joseph T.

and Sophie (O'Lenic) Matthews, and brother Joseph A. Matthews.  Survived by two nieces:

Aimee McMahan (Mike) & Emelie Goldstein (Matt) two nephews: J. Andrew Matthews (Stacy)

and Alan Matthews (Cheryl) A Great Aunt to five, Gerry leaves behind Stroud and Joe McMahan,

Logan Matthews, Ian and Lydia Matthews.  She graduated in 1958 from Arnold High School in

Pennsylvania. She earned an Associate degree in Business Management and Graphic Design.

Gerry was an award-winning Art Director for a national packaging company for 18 years,

before starting her own sales representative business. She worked for several years as a

Independent Medical Courier with Stat Courier Gerry's love of learning led her to explore

a variety of hobbies including woodworking, gardening, sculpting, needlework, painting, and

genealogy. She took great pride in organizing annual O'Lenic family reunions and researching

the family history.  Growing up, Gerry enjoyed participating in all sports, especially cycling and

skiing. Skiing held a special place in her heart since it led her to travel across North America and

Europe. She enjoyed her membership in Cleveland's Suburban Ski Club, of which she was Vice

President in 1974.  Gerry will be greatly missed. She was a devoted family member: a loving and

dutiful daughter, a kind sister, and a considerate and caring Aunt.  She will be remembered as a

talented, creative, inquisitive and active woman whose strong stoic nature protected a sensitive,

loving and thoughtful soul.
