GEZA WILLIAM SABO, age 89, of Solon, was born June 10, 1926 in PA. He was the youngest of five children to Kalman and Anna Szabo. He proudly served with his 3 brothers in WWII as. S/Sgt in a heavy weapons battalion and as an MP in Japan. Geza was married for 52 years to the late Virginia (Jean) née Ference. Together they hand built their family home. It was a source of pride to both of them. Geza was a carpenter and could fix anything. He was a detail man. If he saw something that needed fixing, he did it. We can thank him for many street signs in the area to further clarify a route. He started in the dry cleaning business right after World War II. He used his GI bill to go to the National Institute of Drycleaning and has been involved with the dry cleaning industry since. He started in the dry cleaning business with his brothers Rudy and Ernie and opened Lee Cleaners. Geza was past President of the Ohio Cleaners Association, past member of IFI, International Fabricare Institute, and a member of the National Cleaners Association. In 1973, Geza started the Ohio Cost Bureau. He was also a recipient of the Clean Award, a life time achievement award In dry cleaning. In 1971, Geza became owner of Colony Cleaners in Cedar Center. He continued to consult at the Jay Dee Cleaners until this June with his son, Dave and three grandsons. Geza picked up golf later in life, but mastered the game. He loved to play into his 80's, he was on three golf leagues and could out drive many half his age. Geza is survived by his loving sister, Pearl Sender. His three children: Diann (Rick) Hardesty of Toledo, David (Anne) and Kenneth (Chris) Sabo.Grandchildren: Rick (Jillian) Hardesty of Minneapolis, MN, Kristen (Adam) Sherry of Columbus, John of Charlotte NC, Luke & Paul Sabo and Michael (Jheymmy) and Meagan (Matt Harris) Sabo of both of Maricopa, AZ, Lindsay Leigh, and Connor. Great grandchildren: Aiden, Elly, Kaylee and Belana. Visitation is to be held at TABONE KOMOROWSKI FUNERAL HOME 33650 Solon Rd. (just W of SOM) from 4-8pm on Friday. Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of the Resurrection in Solon at 10A.M. on Saturday.
