It is with deep sorrow and abundant love that we mourn the passing of Joanna D. Marek, 91 years old. Devoted wife of the late Vincent Marek. Loving mother to Eveline Petroff, Paul Marek (Vivian), George Marek (Mary), and Phillip Marek (Kathryn). Dearest grandma to Bradly Petroff (Elly), Alex Petroff (Abigail), Jason Petroff (Michael and Reese), Katie Petroff, Michael Marek (Kendra), and Matthew Marek (Erica). Proud great-grandma to Cooper, Grayson, Maisie, Vincent, Weston, Amelia, Olivia, Miles, and Maddox.

A cherished longtime resident of Solon, Ohio, Joanna was a beacon of warmth to all who knew her. For 25 years, she served as a science aide at Woodbury Elementary school in Shaker Heights, where her profound love for the natural world inspired those around her. Whether working in her garden, savoring a hot cup of tea, marveling at a blooming flower, or watching the birds from her many feeders, she found joy in life's simple pleasures.

Joanna's heart was truly fullest when surrounded by her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. Although small in stature, she had a fiery spirit, boundless wisdom, love, and an infectious smile that filled every room she entered. While we miss her beyond words, may we always carry her light and joy with us.
