Joseph T. Zingale Died peacefully March 10,2014 at his house with his family at his side after 15 years of slipping away one day at a time with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Cleveland May 26. 1933 as the only son to Gaetano and Rosalia I Zingale, immigrants from Sicily. Their work and sacrifices provided him with the education that allowed him to graduate from Bowling Green State University in 1955. His dream was to be a disc jockey on the radio, but he accomplished more than that in his lifetime. His work in broadcasting inspired him to invest in a variety of radio and television station ownerships. After selling the stations he became owner of many professional sports teams, invested in real estate, collected art and wine, and lived the dream of his lifetime for 30 years at his estate in Tuscany. In addition to being an astute businessman, he loved life and his family, and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a Renaissance man - enjoyed jazz and classical music, theatre and plays, gardening, photography, making wine, olive oil, sausages and pizza, playing tennis, skiing, acting painting and wood carving.He loved his family dearly. Along with his wife of 58 years, Mary Jo, his children survive him: Tom in Los Angeles, Nancy in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Rozanne (Lino) Oriella in Chagrin Falls, and Laura in Seattle, Washington. His grandchildren were his pride and total joy. Isabella Oriella, a junior at Tufts University, Marco Oriella, a freshman at Boston College, and Marina Zingale, 10 years old living in Florida, filled his life with happiness. Joe's sister, Mary, pre-deceased him.
