Louis John Dye, Age 95, son of Frank and Ella Dye of Cranbury, NJ, passed away on May 21, at home.  A well-known animal nutritionist, his youth on a farm fostered a life-long interest in agriculture.  As a charter member of the 4-H Baby Beef Club of NJ, he won the first grand championship earning a life-changing college scholarship. He attended Rutgers University, was commissioned an ensign from NROTC at UNC, Chapel Hill, where he met his wife, Ann, and received a B.S. in Animal Husbandry and an M.S. in Agricultural Biochemistry from Rutgers.  He joined Nopco Chemical Co., becoming sales manager of a ten-state region and a national sales manager. In 1975, he was named a vice-president of Diamond Shamrock Chemical Co. in Cleveland and then General Manager of Animal Nutrition. In 1981, he formed Nutrition-Scan Inc., consulting in the feed industry. He was a member of: Sigma Phi Epsilon, Alpha Zeta, the Animal Health Institute, the American Feed Manufacturers and National Feed Ingredients Associations, and a Masonic lodge.  He conducted business worldwide, and his love of hunting and fishing led him as far as Arctic Quebec. Louis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Sonja Helfrich Dye; children Davara Potel (Daniel), Kevin, Louis, Kurt Helfrich (Sue), Kent Helfrich (Betsy); grandchildren Morgen, Jennifer (Simon), Cameron, Lindsey, Tim, Kendra, Evan, Logan,Tess; great-grandchild Corinne.  Predeceased by wife, Ann Noble Dye, daughter Ann Barron, and brother Francis.
