MARLENE ELIZABETH UNGER (ARKO), 81, of Twinsburg, Ohio passed away July 5,2021 at Anna Maria of Aurora Nursing Home.

Marlene was born November 24,1939 to the late John and Rosetta Arko in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Euclid.   She was a graduate of Villa Angela Academy and worked numerous years at Parker-Hannifin prior to marriage.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald Unger, her son Neil, daughter- In-law Julie, and grandchildren Caroline and Alec.  She was preceded in death by her younger sister Elaine Arko.  She will also be dearly missed by daughter-in-law Julie's extended family whom she spent time with at numerous holidays and birthday parties.

Marlene absolutely devoted her time to family and home, living nearly 30 years in Solon prior to moving to Twinsburg.  She spent countless hours at her son's schools where she volunteered and was President of the PTU.  As proud grandmother she babysat many days a week when her grandchildren were little and attended nearly all their sporting events and activities.  Marlene took great pride in her home both inside and out, and had a beautiful talent in decorating and gardening, making things just right. Her greatest interests were reading mystery novels, art, and antiques.

She and Don also kept busy taking Encore Adult Education at Cuyahoga Community College on a variety of subjects, with probably her most favorite learning to speak Italian.  She also took interest in her condo association, serving on the Board in several positions.

A thank you to all the nurses and staff at Anna Maria for their care, who made Marlene's final days peaceful and comfortable.  Family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185 ^th St., Cleveland OH  44119.

Friends received Friday, July 9 ^th at TABONE KOMOROWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 33650 SOLON RD. (JUST W. OF SOM CENTER) FROM 5 to 7 P.M. with Mass of Christian Burial 10 A.M. on Saturday at St. Rita Church 32820 Baldwin Rd. Solon (please meet at the church). Interment All Souls Cemetery.
