Our Friend Paula Miceli

May She Rest in Peace and Eternal Light Shine Upon Her

Paula entered peacefully into eternal life on Oct 18, 2024 at the memory care center at Maplewood Senior Living Center.

She was born in Cleveland, OH to Angelo and Safrina "Franny", both deceased.

Sister to Joseph (Janet), both deceased.

Paula leaves behind a dedicated and loving group of friends, 3 nieces and a nephew.

Paula graduated from Maple Heights High School in 1965 having been inducted into the National Honor Society in 1964.

She then went on to earn a BS in education from Cleveland State University in 1970, having worked many part time jobs to pay her tuition.

Paula got her Masters Degree from John Carroll University.

Her teaching certificate was issued in 1970 and she began her career and passion for teaching in the Maple Heights school district. 1st and 2nd grades. She was known as a strict but loving disciplinarian. Paula had a great love for "her" children that she taught.

She was the best dressed teacher at her school!

In 1990 she was awarded the first Golden Apple Award for Stafford Elementary School and was recognized with a proclamation by the City of Maple Heights.

In 1987 she was nominated for National Parent-Teacher Association Phoebe Apperson Hearst Outstanding Educator of the Year Award and was recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives.

Health problems led to an early retirement. Paula then embarked on teaching public school religion classes at St. Rita Parish in Solon OH. She became a Eucharistic Minister and made many long and cherished friendships.

A generous hostess that loved having parties and picnics at her house that she was so proud of in Solon. She took exceptional care of her parents, especially the last years of her mother's life.In lieu of flowers please remember Paula with a gift to the Father Burchell Scholarship

Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10 A.M. at Church of St. Rita, 32820 Baldwin, Solon, 44139. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Komorowski Funeral Home.
