Steven Nemeth III, 83, of Solon, passed away September 27 surrounded by his loving
family. Steven lived a life marked by kindness, devotion to his family, commitment to St.
Rita’s Parish Ministry, and service to his country as a proud Vietnam Veteran.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Susan, his children Jeffrey, Gregory
(Kristina), Bradley (Caitlin), and his grandchildren Lauren, Nathan, Ryan, Kasey and
Caroline; and siblings, Patricia Williard, Joseph (Monica) Nemeth, and Elizabeth (Jerry)
Szweda. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Rose, and brother-
in-law, John.
Steven grew up in Orange, Ohio where he met his soulmate, Susan, while attending
Orange High School. He graduated from The University of Akron where he completed
the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program. Steven served his country
with honor and deep pride during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a long-accomplished
career in supply chain management. Later, he shared his knowledge and experience
through teaching supply chain management courses.
His greatest joy was his family who will remember him for his selflessness and always
putting family first. Steven was a devoted Cleveland sports fan who passed on his
unwavering support (even for the Browns) to his children. He loved golfing and fishing,
but what made those passions most meaningful was sharing them with his boys.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
https://www.dav.org/. Steven’s service was a defining chapter of honor and patriotism in
his life. We take great comfort in knowing his legacy will continue and any donations
made in his honor will provide disabled veterans with the assistance they deserve.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at St. John Funeral Home (16381
Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls) from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on October 5. A funeral Mass

Western Reserve National Cemetery. A gathering to honor Steven will take place on
