Our History

On the southeast side of Cleveland, Florian J. Komorowski built a funeral home in 1939. The funeral home was built upon the belief that providing personal funeral services to the community was one of the most honorable professions a person could have. He and his wife, Regina, raised the family above the home until David and Patricia moved in to start raising their family. Over the years, in response to the changing needs of families served, the funeral home has been remodeled and expanded to provide larger facilities to accommodate visiting areas, funeral services on the premises, community rooms for luncheons, a casket and vault selection room to truly become a full-service funeral home. David F. and Attorney James J. Komorowski joined their Dad, Florian. David's son, Michael D., began working with the family firm in 1991. That same year, Komorowski Funeral Home expanded the service area through the purchase of Hyber-Domagalski Funeral Home, located in Tremont. The Professor Avenue location, adjacent to St. John Cantius Church, served families as Komorowski Funeral Home until 2015. Services are still available in Tremont by calling the funeral home. In 2005, David, James, and Michael Komorowski expanded their service to families by merging with Tabone Funeral Home, owned by Martin and Alberta Tabone. Komorowski Tabone Funeral Home has served and continues to serve the wonderfully diverse communities of Solon, Bainbridge, and all of the Chagrin Valley area, including Portage and Summit Counties. There are funeral homes available for services in Bainbridge, as well as on the west side in Broadview Heights. Michael and Julie continued the tradition of raising the family in the community that they serve by living in Solon and supporting local churches, businesses, and various organizations. Our combined family business will continue our long history of serving Greater Cleveland families with professionalism, trust, and honesty.
